Woookay..I've been checking his news blog every now and then for the past month and there's only been one entry; then all of a sudden, I go today, and 5 pops up! @_@ I think I was looking at the wrong date the whole time, lol. Anyways, since I'm doing Keita's blog, I figure I'd do Sho's blog, too. Sho recently became a newscaster on NTV's "News Zero" program talking about economics and stuff (you know, cuz' he's smart *pinches his cheek*) XDDD Man, Sho! I'm going to know all about Japanese politics because of you XDDDD So here's to ARASHI fans! Please do not post this translation elsewhere without my permission. Thank you.

Every day, in this world, many thousands of news photographs are distributed.
From one photo, I think we want to tell the people of the young generation, and those who do not know the news very well, problems of the news in simple, easy to understand forms.

This week, I chose to look at Takaichi Sanae-san's business card(1).

Even if it's Takaichi Sanae-san's business card, there are many titles, aren't there?
Her official positions are:
"Okinawa-Northern"
"Technology"
"Innovation"
"Declining Birth Rates"
"Gender Equality"
"Food Safety Commission"
She has 6 positions!
Normally, people would think, "why not just have 6 people do those jobs?" right?
So I did some research. There are actually some reasons for such things.
In fact, written in the laws of the Cabinent Legislation is that "the maximum number of cabinet ministers is 18 (17 Ministers of State + Prime Minister). So that they may slim the number of people, even by a little bit, they decided on "18" people. This time's Abe Ministry(2) also decided on having "18 people" as Cabinet Ministers.
However, it seems that there are..."33" individual positions.
That is why we see Cabinet Ministers like Takaichi Sanae-san holding 6 concurrent posts.
By the way, one of Takaichi Sanae-san's 6 posts, there is a new one called, "Minister of State for Innovation."
In order to promote "technological innovation" in the branches of medicine, engineering, information, etc., this post was created for the first time this time.
Incidentally, former Prime Minister, Koizumi, said that during the Mori Cabinet(3) reign, the "Minister of State for Privacy Protection" had a "Minister for International Exhibitions" for the "Aichi World's Fair."(4)

When I look at this and the cabinet ministry we had at that time, I understand very well what points are they putting emphasis on.
Today, I observed how the "18" seats of the cabinet ministry was decided.
