I broke my promise and didn't update each day..I'm sorry! Q_Q Please forgive me T_T It started out fine..until I realized that I had updated on Friday about my Saturday story! *embarrassed* So I didn't update yesterday so I could get on track, but then my browser got hacked and I lost my internect connection ^O^" But I'm back now so no worries ^~^" I think? I'm starting to be buried by my schoolwork X_X Stupid teachers!!! So I'll just try to update as soon as I can ^~^"
Today's the second day of my trip! We landed in Osaka, went to Nara, walked around Naramachi, and went shopping at the Shinsaibachi (Downtown Osaka!!!) ^O^! I GOT PICCIES!!!!!!!!!! (Sorry again, I'll only be able to update one day today..turns out that all my pics are too big for uploading so I have to resize everything! Which...takes quite a while considering my snail of a computer...please patient ^~^"). These pictures are all taken by me, so please DO NOT take it without permission ^~^"
JAPAN CHRONICLES ~part two~
So we landed at Kwansai International Airport at around 9'o clock on the 19th of Feb. It's a Sunday! ^O^ IT WAS COLD. Just walking through the tunnel thing from the airplane to the airport was FREEZING. EEKS. (Remember, I live in a tropical country where the Sun knows no cold!). So I put on all my sweaters, jackets, coats, socks, gloves...anything to keep myself kinda warm =_=
There were no big problems at the airport except that our group got split up -_-" We didn't know where we were meeting up after getting our luggage, so some people went outside the building to wait, but I waited at the baggage area with my friend (which was a good idea, as it turned out XD). Anyhoo, our Thai guide, I'll call her Nuen-san, gave us sometime to wash up (like wash our stinkin' mouths..eeeee), and then we all piled onto the bus ^O^! Trip Start!
Our group was to break up into two people wanted to do different activities. So 17-19 people went to Universal Studio Japan, and 5-7 people went to Nara ^O^" Big diff, huh? =P Well, I was in the Nara group, hehe ^O^ I didn't go to USJ because I've already been to the one in the US, and well, what could be more original? ^O^"
So we drove to Nara (about 1hr, 40min). I fell asleep sorta XD (I tried really hard not to though! But there's just not much view in Japan besides..barren land ^~^" At least, it was like that where we were). When we arrived, I woke up with a start and looked out the window and saw two deers immediately XD There they were, walkin' around the parking lot not afraid of being crushed by all the big tour buses ^O^"

They cut most of the horns off of all the deers...I think I only saw one or two with them =( I guess they cut the antlers off because the deers like to run into people ^O^" I saw a lot of that =P
We got off, and waited at the entrance of Nara Park because some people had to go to the bathroom. My friends and I were just chatting when all of a sudden, a deer came right around my friend's waist! Totally freak the heck outta him XDD It was really funneh XD They kept creeping around us, sniffing us as if searching for food (which is probably what they were doing).

When our group re-grouped, we entered the park and saw about 50 deers O_O So many! They were either walking around doing nothing, chasing unfortunate people holding food, or sleeping XD Our other guide, Takahashi-san, bought some deer crackers and immediately got swarmed by ten deers XDD! He quickly handed some out to us and I fed one. Well more like, the deer ripped the cracker outta my hand and gobbled it up maliciously O_O Dang, those deers are fierce! They literally just ram into people if that's what it takes to get food ^O^"
One of the guys in our group wanted to buy some sweet potato (a little vending store at the side of the road; there were a lot of those, including tourist shops/shacks)so we were all looking at him buying it. All of a sudden, I felt a tug on my bag. I turned around and saw a deer trying to bite off my nametag!!!! O_O! I pulled my back away from the deer, but the deer pulled back. After a little mini-tug-of-war, the nametag snapped off my bag and the deer chewed it up happily and swallowed it =_+!!!!!!!!!!!!! I couldn't believe it!!! Stupid deer -_-" You couldn't find REAL food?!?! HUH!?!?!?! My poor nametag...T_T
Boy, did my friend have a good laugh -_-" (It was actually pretty funny, because it was so stupid ^O^" I couldn't help laughing myself =P).

I think they're sleeping ^O^

The temple that houses the Big Buddha.
We walked around the park and entered this building where we had to buy some tickets to enter the grounds where the Big Buddha sits. We burned some incense and finally got to enter the buliding where the Big Buddha of Nara sits. It was a.m.a.z.i.n.g. O_O Simply incredible, I can't even describe the awesome atmosphere that surrounded the whole place...just amazing. The Big Buddha really suits the name XDD He really is humongous O_O Too bad I didn't get to see the one in Kamakura, who sits outside, but this one was still fantastic!

We walked around the building and we came to this pole surrounded by people. I immediately knew that it was the pole with the hole XD Have you ever heard of it? ^O^ It's a legend of the Nara temple where if you can crawl through it, it is said that your wishes will be granted~you'll get happiness, health, wealth, etc etc. The hole is really small O_O But even big people can climb through ^O^ My big American dude friend got through XD All you hafta do is go in sorta sideways. I actually almost got stuck and had to literally pull myself out from the other side ^O^" The result was me completly tumbling out and doing an awesome rollover flip thing smack on my face and butt XD My friend got a picture of that actually ^O^" I sorta pulled my shoulder then too ^O^" It was pretty neat though ^O^ I still don't know the origin of that hole though, wonder how it came about?

The magic hole.
Then there were some souvenir shops, and I bought some random keychains and charms XD I donated some money into the rack thing where you just throw the money in. It was pretty weird throwing in money ^O^" I kept worrying that it would bounce back out XD When I threw mine, I was the only one standing there and it echoed throughout the whole temple O_O hehe ^O^" Then I prayed a bit, and we headed for the next temple ^O^
On our way out from the Big Buddha Shrine, we saw about 100 school kids all in line at the entrance O_O It was a really neat sight ^O^ They were there on a school excursion, I was told ^_^ I didn't find any good looking pretty boys though....We ate lunch after that at a restaurant nearby. I had curry rice; it was DEEEELICIOUUUSS!!!!!!!!!!! *DROOLS*

One of the temples in the big lawn.
The next temples were located a bit far from our first one so we had to walk quite a bit. When we finally reached it, it turned out to be this huuuuuuuuuge lawn that consisted of about 3-4 buildings over 1,000 years old O_O! There were also deers there ^O^" We walked waay to the other side of the lawn (and admired two cute little pups running around) and prayed some more. There was even a bell there to ring...I really wanted to ring but was afraid that I wasn't allowed ^~^" We went down a flight of stairs and entered Naramachi; an old-preserved town of Nara renouned for its authenticity and traditions.

Mochi making.
The next...two hours+ consisted of walking around the whole of Naramachi (and getting lost) and coming alll the way back to the other side of the huge lawn (so we went around in gigantic loop). Naramachi was very peaceful though ^O^ It's not a shopping place or anything, it's just a village. People still live there everyday peacefully. The streets are very narrow and few cars pass. For an old town though, it still couldn't help falling into the vending machine fad ^O^" If you go to Japan, there's a vending machine EVERY 5 METERS O_O If they don't get you the first time, they'll keep tempting you over and over again until you give in XD Which is what happened to my friend lmao XDD
The houses are really nice to look at too actually XD I think we must've annoyed some people because we were standing infront of their house and staring into their lawns for about 5 min XD But there were barely any people around...it almost seemed like the town was dead. One cute thing I noticed though, was that all the houses have these little red buckets of water at the front of their house:

I asked Takahashi-san why did they had it, and he told us that because all Japanese houses are built very close to each and are all made of wood, they are very liable to catch fire. So every house has a bucket of water at their gate in case of a fire. If a neighbor's house catches fire, then everyone can immideately provide assitance ^O^ CooL!
We visited a Japanese house modeled in the old-fashioned Japanese way. It had tatami mats, a little bonsai garden, and everything ^O^ It was really cute ^O^ There were these really cool stairs that had drawers in them! What a smart way to save space! =P!

We also walked to the Nara Radio station XD There was a little recording studio inside ^O^ But the best part was the TV! They had two TV sets, showing all channels (the screen was broken up into 12 boxes, each showing a different channel) and I saw hyde and Tetsu!!!!!!!!!!!WAAAAAAAAAAAAH!!!!!!!! I couldn't believe it!!!!!! I didn't wanna leave, I just wanted to stand there and watch XDDD!! My first random JRock encounter!!!!!! ^O^ !!!!!! I don't even know what show it was; it was just hyde and Tetsu sitting on a sofa talking...but it was TOTALLY WORTH IT!! WOOHOO!!!!!!!!! ^O^V!!!!!!!
We walked sooooooooooooooo much after that Q_Q I thought I was going to die Y_Y We walked and walked and walked and walked and walked and walked and walked and WALKED. Until we FINALLY came to the other side of the huuuuge lawn X_X
We proceeded to the bus after that but on the way, I saw about 20 schoolboys running around all wearing these cute little pink antlers XD I had wanted to buy them before, but I was indecisive. There little pink antlers you can wear on your head ^O^ Really cute ^O^ So I got inspired and bought one XD hehe XD We all piled onto the bus after that and headed for Shinsaibashi - Downtown Osaka ^O^
When we got there, we were given some free time until 5:30pm. We had about an hour to walk around ^O^ Sensei (she's my Japanese teacher and was the one who organized this wonderful trip) said that we should try out Takoyaki (it's like...baked squid? ^O^" Little balls...they're like meatballs, except that they have squid instead); a Japanese snack for the winter ^O^ So a few of us went with her (everyone else went shopping). On the way, guess who I saw!!!:

AND there was a whole Docomo store just waiting for me to invade XDDD!!! (Kame and Jin are endorsing Docomo cellphones at the moment XD THEY'RE EVERYWHERE!!!!!!!
We got to some Takoyaki store and she bought some for us ^O^ It was REALLY HOT! I totally burnt my tongue, as did everyone else X_x But yummy ^O^ We had two type: one with soup inside (which was sorta messy) and the other with shoyu (soy sauce) inside ^O^ Both delicious ^O^
While we were waiting for our Takoyaki to come though, (all the Takoyaki shops are like vending shops; they sit on the street and make the Takoyaki right there) we sat on a bench and I got to look around the Shinsaibashi. It's really lively ^O^ It reminded me of this shopping place in Milan. Shinsaibashi has a dome over ir (to a certain extent) but has tiled, mall-quality floors that gave the place an indoor and outdoor feel at the sametime. It had some really expensive brand name stores but also a lot of little stores. And of course, a lotta flashing lights ^O^ The weather was really cold too, but the Takoyaki warmed us up a lot ^O^
We then headed back. On our way back, Sensei stopped at some Japanese delicates shop (where she would then share it with the rest of us) and I got the chance to go into the Docomo store and take some fliers with Jin and Kame on it XDD! And I also got the chance to take the pic of Gackt XDD! I also saw a picture of Junichi Okada!!! (who's also endorsing another phone company) YEAH!!

Our group came together at the entrance of Shinsaibashi and we got on our tour bus. Our next stop was Kyoto ^O^ It was only an hour ride but before we went to our hotel, we stopped by a restaurant for dinner! HOTPOT!! Like in Gokusen episode 7 when Jun eats it!!! JUN!! I ate the samething you did!!!! AND IT WAS DEEELICIOUS!!!!!!!!d^O^b!!!!!!! We also got free ice cream, mwahahahaha ^O^
After filling up our tummies, we finally headed for the Rihga Royal Hotel where I was just ready to pass out. But nO! Japan had other plans for me! We got to our hotel room, and after settling down a bit, I turned on the TV. AND GUESS WHO I SAW:

Need a closeup?

JUN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Of course I expressed my surprise calmly by shrieking "AAAAAAH!!!!!" and fallling onto my knees, thus freaking the hell outta my roommate who was looking out the window XDDDD Not ONLY was it *JUN*...

KAT-TUN was there too!!!!!!!!!!!
Waaaah..Kame T_T

It's the show that Jun's hosting with the beeeeeeeeetch MM girl GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR. I almost smashed the TV when I saw her, but luckily they didn't focus on her horrible monster face too much ^O^ They stayed on my Jun mostly ^O^ And the KAT-TUN guys ^O^ hehe ^O^
I can't believe I saw Jun on my first night there!!!!!!!Then it hit me, "HOLY CRAP I'M IN THE SAME COUNTRY, THE SAME TIMEZONE, THE SAME (will be) CITY AS JUN, RYUICHI, HYDE, KAME, ETCCC." And then I died happy XDD
My roommate thought I was insane, taking pictures of the TV SET like mad XDDD!! The pictures are a lot clearer than I expected too ^O^ Yippy!!!!!!! We then found some yukatas lying around in one of the drawers and tried them on, they were really warm! ^O^ Then we tucked into our beds, and had a good night's sleep ^O^
End Day 2! ^O^
Today's the second day of my trip! We landed in Osaka, went to Nara, walked around Naramachi, and went shopping at the Shinsaibachi (Downtown Osaka!!!) ^O^! I GOT PICCIES!!!!!!!!!! Nara, um, I"m not familiar with that part of Japan. It's looks nice though and cold too. (brrr!!) Very pretty too. The temple and the deer, so cute. But poor things! I wonder why they cut the antlers off? Too dangerous maybe being so close to people...
Takoyaki...I"ve heard of that but never tried it. Sounds good though.
